Welsh Blankets

Jane Beck at Welsh Blankets has an extensive knowledge of the Welsh Woollen Industry for Welsh Blankets & Welsh Quilts, living on the borders of Ceredigion & Carmarthenshire, an area well known for its commercialisation of the Wool Trade. A purpose-built tin shed shop replicates the local vernacular for roadmens' houses a century ago, and is fitted out like a mid-century mill shop, with floor to ceiling Welsh blankets, quilts & accessories.

Magic Threads can make embroidered labels reflecting the content of the quilt front by putting a small embroidery on the label. We will design the label and send a printout as a PDF, showing the design for approval or amendment. We will create the label on either calico, which I can provide, or your own fabric.

Project Linus UK: a Community Interest Company with a national network of volunteers who make beautiful quilts and blankets for sick, distressed or traumatised children in their local area. Typically, the quilts are given to Special Baby units and children's wards in hospitals, Women's Refuges, Fostering Units and individual children in the community. All quilts are handmade, brand new and given to each child to keep.
